It was not Lando Norris' finest hour, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, of course, but the McLaren driver, knows where the key lies to turning his season around. After leading the championship for four rounds, Norris has relinquished the lead to teammate
Oscar Piastri on the fifth, following a number of missed opportunities. The race in Jeddah was no execption.
"I think it's the best we could have done today. Of course, shame to miss out on a podium," said the Briton to Sky Sports.
To have better Sundays in F1, Norris knows his Saturdays need to improve
"We were close, so it's hard to judge those things. Charles (Leclerc, P3 in Jeddah, ed.), drove a good race. He had a good first stint. He gave himself that opportunity to have a decent set of tyres in the second half. I think he only boxed three or four laps after, five laps after maybe. Not enough to go."
"I'm pleased on the whole, I just make life tough for myself, especially when it's a race like that. It would have been much easier, a lot more chill just to drive out in the front. In some ways it's a bit easier, so I've got to make life easier for myself and have better Saturdays," concluded Norris.
The driver of the McLaren number 4 car's inconsistencies
have flared up this season when the papaya team are the clear title favourite due to their car's superiority. Next week, the
F1 circus will touch down in Miami for the 6th round of the championship, where Norris will have another chance to get his season back in line.
