McLaren driver Lando Norris declares how "proud" he is of his team's start to the 2025 Formula 1 season, with the Brit wanting to finish the first triple-header of the season "strongly".

The British team have taken three out of four wins to start the campaign, showing themselves to be the team to beat on the grid with a commanding 58-point lead in the constructors' standings already.

Norris leads his teammate Oscar Piastri by just three points in the drivers' standings, sitting on 77 points, with his win at the Australian Grand Prix and four podiums to start the season giving him the smallest of gaps over the Australian.

Norris "looking forward" to racing in Jeddah

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix marks the fifth race of the season, the final weekend of the first triple-header of the season, and Norris knows McLaren have a chance to extend their lead in the constructors' championship.

“I’m excited to head back to Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix this weekend," explained the Brit. "It’s a really fast track, and we have a quick car, so we’ll be aiming to finish this triple-header strongly.

“I’m proud with how we’ve started the season. We’ve celebrated our success but also come together as a team to debrief and take away our learnings ahead of the next race. I’m feeling good and look forward to going racing again this weekend,” concluded the McLaren driver.

Piastri going into Saudi Arabia "with a lot of confidence"

However, althought Norris leads the way in the standings, Piastri looks to be the man in for out on the track, taking an impressive second win of the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix last time out, winning my over 15 seconds of George Russell in P2, while Norris rounded out the top three.

“I was very happy with the win and the manner of victory over in Bahrain," stated the Australian

"Therefore, I'm going into this weekend with a lot of confidence. Jeddah is a track that I really enjoy and have good memories of from past visits. I’m determined to hit the ground running in Saudi,” Piastri concluded.

Stella not basking in Bahrain glory for too long

Although it has been a superb start for McLaren in 2025, backing up their winter testing pace, team principal Andrea Stella is keen to keep their momentum going by focusing on the next job at hand in Jeddah.

“After a successful weekend in Bahrain, we immediately turn our attention to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. We feel encouraged by our performance thanks to the hard work of everyone in the team who have delivered a fast car," said the Italian team boss.

"The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is one of the fastest circuits in the calendar, with opportunities for overtaking, and a softer tyre allocation compared to the past, which could make for an exciting race. As always, we keep focused and hope to close out this triple-header with another positive result for the team,” concluded Stella.
