Lando Norris was close to the front row of the grid for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but ran off track and had to hand in his lap time. The Brit still feels bad, as his stream on Twitch shows.
The pole in Imola went to Lewis Hamilton, but for a moment it looked like a big surprise. Lando Norris drove a great lap and seemed to put himself on the second row for the Grand Prix. However, the Briton had exceeded the track limits and therefore had to give up his fastest time. Starting from P7, Norris eventually made it onto the podium after all.
''Disappointing isn't it? I really want to cry now. The worst thing is that two corners before the end I was on track for pole. I was two tenths quicker than Hamilton for the last two corners. Realize, with two corners to go, I had pole. But the Mercedes is so much faster in those two corners that I lost everything,'' Norris said in his stream.
A pole would have made it even more sour for the Briton, as he also lost it. ''Bullcrap'', he shouts out when it comes on screen that he has to hand in his lap time. ''I was out of it, it was my own fault. I was still on P7, but I should have been here'', Norris concluded pointing between Hamilton's P1 and Sergio Perez's P2.
