McLaren rookie Lando Norris wants to carry the momentum from the Bahrain Grand Prix into Shanghai at the Chinese Grand Prix in hopes for another good result.
Last time out in Bahrain the brit finished sixth after fighting his way through the field, putting him at seventh in the drivers’ standings at the moment.
That result was McLaren’s best finish since Fernando Alonso finished fifth at the Australian Grand Prix last year.
Norris said (quoted by GPToday): “Another race and another new circuit.
"I’m looking forward to trying out the Shanghai track for the first time, I've done plenty of practice in the sim so now I'm excited to drive it for real.
"Last weekend went well for us in Bahrain, I'm going to try and carry that momentum forward to the Chinese Grand Prix.

"From what I've seen this looks to be a fun track, so hopefully we will see some more racing and overtaking."

With the race in Shanghai this weekend being the 1000th race of Formula 1 Norris said that he will be running a special helmet to celebrate.

He said: “I have a one-off helmet design for China to celebrate the 1000th Grand Prix race.

“It’s really exciting to be taking part in this special occasion on only my third F1 entry.”
