Force India driver Sergio Perez has confirmed the teams' financial situation is "critical". Speculation over a possible take over, with Lawerence Stroll involved, has developed this week.
It's unsure if his seat will be safe for 2019. The prospect of administration gives Perez an extra ingredient to think about. Speaking about the current situation to crash, Perez expresses his concerns.
"Well at the moment, the situation is critical. There's no secret the financial problems have held the team back quite a bit," Perez said.
"But when you look at the results, because Formula 1 is just about the results, we are fifth in the constructors' championship, and you cannot imagine the financial issues we've had so far."
And it's that 'best of the rest' position Force India have found themselves in for the past two seasons. Before agreeing to a contract next season, Perez has made it clear he wants to find out what the situation is going to be.
"I would like to see what happens in the coming weeks, months, whatever happens with the team because I believe it is a great team," he added.
