Sergio Perez is positive after the only free practice session he drove ahead of the
British Grand Prix. The
Red Bull Racing driver closed the session third and says he already has a good feeling in the car.
Perez happy after positive FP2 at Silverstone
Perez drove just one free practice session at
Silverstone on Friday. During the first practice session, the Mexican sat on the sidelines while Red Bull junior and
Formula 2 driver Isack Hadjar took the wheel of his RB20. Perez closed the second session with a third time, compared to a seventh time of teammate
Max Verstappen.
"It was a solid session, considering I wasn’t in the car this morning for FP1. The car is feeling good, but I think we need to find some balance, especially in the low and medium speed, the car feels really nice in the high speed," Perez began after the second free practice session.
"When you miss a session, it immediately feels like a busier afternoon, straight away you go into performance and high fuel and need to feed a lot back to engineering, but Isack had done a great job doing that for the Team this morning. I think the car has good potential for this weekend, the conditions are going to be varied and we are going to have to be on it with the decisions we make," Perez said.
