Sergio Perez feels sorry for
Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian leaves
McLaren at the end of the season and does not know whether he will be able to compete in
Formula 1 next year. According to Perez, that situation is not easy at all, he told
Formula1.com. While he has been a teammate of
Max Verstappen at
Red Bull Racing for a year and a half now, things were not looking so good for Perez. Racing Point decided earlier in his career to say goodbye to him and put
Sebastian Vettel in his place. It caused Perez a lot of uncertainty.
"I've been in that situation before," Perez stated. "And sometimes, for people sitting back on the computers, on social media, it's very easy to judge things but for us, this is our life, this is what we want to do and we still want to be in the sport."
Perez full of confidence at Red Bull
Whereas Perez struggled to compete with the top drivers last year, this season he feels he is increasingly able to fight for wins. The Mexican feels the championship is still wide open and he is confident for the next nine races.
