Charles Leclerc will start Sunday's
Singapore Grand Prix from pole position. The Monegasque has behind him
Sergio Perez and
Lewis Hamilton, who start from second and third respectively.
Carlos Sainz concludes the top four.
Fernando Alonso also managed a handsome performance. The Spaniard once again convinced with his experience, grabbing the fifth starting position, putting him ahead of
Lando Norris and
Pierre Gasly.
Max Verstappen followed due to a painful qualifying on P8.
While
Kevin Magnussen and Yuki Tsunoda also got into the top ten,
George Russell had a much harder time. The Briton got no further than 11th place and therefore has a tough assignment for the race.
Daniel Ricciardo once again found himself at the back. The
McLaren driver picked up the 17th time and therefore seems to have little chance of a place in the points on Sunday.
Williams was clearly the lesser team in qualifying. Indeed,
Alexander Albon and
Nicholas Latifi grabbed the last two positions.
