Antonio Lobato does not think that
Formula 1 has progressed with the new race management. Niels Wittich and Eduardo Freitas have been at the helm since this season, but the
Formula 1 journalist believes that decisions in the motorsport class have not improved. He tells this to
Soymotor.com.
Last season
Michael Masi experienced a tough year. Partly due to the fierce battle between
Lewis Hamilton and
Max Verstappen, he found himself in difficult situations, where he received plenty of criticism for his decisions. After things also went wrong in 2021 during the final race in Abu Dhabi, the
FIA decided to intervene.
Doubts about current race management
The organization said goodbye to Masi and passed on two race directors who had to alternate. According to the FIA, this decision would help ensure that the pressure on Freitas and Wittich would not be as great as it was with Masi. Lobato, however, sees little change.
"Masi was brushed off," he judges in the interview. In doing so, Lobato openly asks himself how the current race directors will handle difficult issues. "I hope there won't be an unprecedented tension like in Abu Dhabi, because then I don't know what these guys will do. Personally, I think we will be worse off than before."
