Alfa Romeo Racing driver
Kimi Raikkonen believes the changes made to the cars in the 2019 season, have made it easier to follow cars more intensely.
The rule changes for this new season include an alteration on the front and rear wings, in order to try and encourage more overtaking in
Formula 1.
The former
Ferrari driver believes that the changes in the aerodynamics have ensured a more entertaining competition for the drivers, fans and teams.
"I don't know if I overtook anbody in the new DRS. But I think the cars for sure lets you get closer undisturbed," Raikkonen said to
RaceFans. "I think exits are still tricky when you're really close. But I think the cars are more easy to follow now, getting closer." Raikkonen has enjoyed a strong start at Alfa Romeo (formerly Sauber), finishing eighth on his debut in Melbourne - before going one better last weekend in Bahrain with an impressive P7 finish.
The Finn was at Ferrari last season, but the form of Charles Leclerc, for then Sauber, persuaded Scuderia to gamble and bring the youngster in for Raikkonen.
