Kimi Raikkonen has denied he had any issues in FP1 despite finishing just 15th in the session.
The
Ferrari man struggled as many of the other drivers did in the first session of the weekend in Baku on a circuit that was dusty and wasn't taking much rubber. Raikkonen denied however that his position was reflective of any issues he might have had with the car.
"We didn't have any problems. Obviously people write stuff but I wanted to have a different set-up.
"It can take a long time for certain things to change so I'd rather skip track time in the first session and be ready for the second.
"Absolutely zero issues."
Raikkonen did recover and finished second in FP2. He and his Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel showed strong race pace which gave the Finn some promise going into Saturday.
"Yeah it looked ok. Obviously difficult to say as I've not had chance to look at what the others are doing but it felt pretty good.
"Things to improve, still, but yeah, wasn't too bad."
