During the weekend of the Dutch GP it was announced that
Kimi Raikkonen had tested positive for the coronavirus. The Finn could not participate in the race and also last weekend he could not be there for the Italian GP.
On Instagram, the Finn now reveals that he expects to be back at it in Sochi. "I am all good. See you at the next GP," it sounds in the caption of his Instagram message.
Just before it was announced that Raikkonen was infected with the coronavirus, he announced on his
social media that he will be leaving
Formula 1 at the end of the season. With only eight races to go this season, we're happy to see the Finn back on the grid.
Kubica and Bottas
Robert Kubica was the lucky one who got to sit in Raikkonen's F1 seat at Zandvoort and Monza. The reserve driver finished 15th and 14th during these races. Next season
Valtteri Bottas will take over the Finn's seat at
Alfa Romeo.
