Formula 1 has a record number of 23 races scheduled this season. Where several Grands Prix cancelled in 2021, the organization of the Russian GP is ready to host the event in the country.

Sochi Autodrom can normally accommodate 55,000 people along the track, but due to the corona crisis, that will be half in 2021. Meanwhile, the organization has sold out almost all seats. Reportedly, only 1,000 tickets remained unsold, leaving many people seated along the circuit in Russia by the end of September.
"This season, as last year, the capacity of the Sochi Autodrom has been agreed to be 50 percent of the total occupancy," the organisation explained in a statement. "During the event, all sanitary and epidemiological requirements will be observed to minimize the risk of the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection."

The organisation is not at all worried about the risks that could possibly be attached to the Formula One weekend. "Our advantage is that we already have practical experience of organising competitive events with a high degree of prevention of the spread of the coronavirus."
