Renault have confirmed there will be a reshuffle of their management, with three new roles set to be created. The team have confirmed this with Liberty Media’s 2021 rule changes in mind.
Renault have had a tough start to the F1 season sitting seventh in the current standings, struggling with reliability issues which has seen five retirements from a possible eight.
Christophe Mary, Stephane Rodriguez both take up new roles as director of engineering and project and purchasing director respectively. There’s also a change of position for Matt Harman who is set to become engineering director here in the UK.
The three new roles are set to be created to aid vehicle development and will take place from August 1.
As quoted by Crash.net a Renault statement read:
“Beyond their impact on the 2019 and 2020 seasons, these changes are a significant step towards preparing both organisations to the challenges of the 2021 season and meeting the objectives of the roadmap set in 2016.”
