Daniel Ricciardo believes that he is able to consistently finish his car in the points this season despite failing to finish his home Grand Prix. The Aussie had a lot of expectation and pressure on him at the Australian race and will hope that he is left alone to prepare more for Bahrain. Ricciardo seems confident in the car's ability and hopes to cement
Renaults position as best of the rest this season.
“The car belongs in the points,” Ricciardo said to crash.net. “I think we should be a top eight car all the first part of the season and then hopefully better. “I think Bahrain will be a lot easier, it’ll be like a holiday week [compared to Australia], there’s nothing going on so I can actually prepare properly."
Ricciardo will hope that having got his home Grand Prix and the first race of the season finished with, he can be more successful in Bahrain.
“I’m frustrated because everyone expects so much but the reality was my race was over after five seconds.
“Whether it’s bad luck or not, I feel like preparation wasn’t where it should be so I feel a bit hard done by but I was trying to please everyone.”
Reanult will be desperate to perform well in Bahrain and will be hoping that both cars finish in the points.
