Ricciardo hopes to win his bet: "I think he's pretty nervous"

According to Daniel Ricciardo, his team boss Cyril Abiteboul is now 'pretty nervous' about losing the bet the two have agreed. If Ricciardo puts his Renault on the podium this season, Abiteboul will get a tattoo.

Daniel Ricciardo finished Sunday at Spa-Francorchamps in fourth position for the second time this season, after doing the same in Great Britain. The Australian has a bet with Abiteboul that if he finishes on the podium this season, Abiteboul will have to get a tattoo.

"I think pretty nervous. I've just seen him now. I told him to stay alert over the next seven days," Ricciardo replied to the question from Autosport.com. "At least last year, Monza was an even stronger circuit for us: and if we are stronger there's only a podium in front of us."

"I'm not getting ahead of myself, or the team isn't, but I think we can go to Monza with confidence and aim high," Ricciardo concludes. The team equalled the best result they have achieved in Belgium since their return to Formula 1 in 2016. Last time the team finished fourth and fifth was at Monza last season.
