Daniel Ricciardo believes that the new third DRS zone added to the Red Bull Ring could help overtaking and provide a boost to Red Bull. The Australian is currently seen as the outsider in the championship fight with Lewis Hamilton and former teammate Sebastian Vettel.
Speaking in Thursday's press conference, Ricciardo said that the extra DRS zone would be a welcome help for overtaking and that it could work to his teams advantage.
"The extra DRS zone will help us. On paper it's still probably not as good as a Singapore or a Budapest, a win who knows, but we should be aiming for a podium,"
Red Bull regard their car as one of the if not the most aerodynamically efficient on the grid and street circuits like Singapore and tracks that are heavily reliant on downforce such as the Hungaroring are some of the strongest for the Milton-Keynes outfit.
Ricciardo is coming off the back of a disappointing French Grand Prix in which he missed out on a podium. Damage to his front wing late on cost him third to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen. He will be looking at bouncing back strong on Red Bull's home turf.
