Will we have new constructor in Formula 1 in 2025? Potentially. According to the British CAR Magazine, Volkswagen are in full discussion with Formula 1 and would join Porsche and/or Audi as the king of motor sports.

New regulations

According to the British medium, the Volkswagen Group, which includes Audi and Porsche, is particularly interested in Formula One because of the budget cap and upcoming rule changes. "Porsche is part of the FIA'sengine working group, so they are involved in all the talks about the 2025 regulations. They're also said to be making a real contribution - they come to the meetings full of ideas," said Tom Clarkson of CAR Magazine.
"It's likely that the amount of electric power will be doubled for 2025, and Porsche is excited about that. So yes, I think there's a good chance they'll participate," Wilkinson continued.

Environmentally friendly priorities

Oliver Blume, Porsche's general manager, revealed he's optimistic. "It's true that F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, and we follow it closely. But in order to make it a viable business case in line with our brand values, the regulations must change in such a way that Porsche can broadly agree with the new environmentally friendly priorities. Synthetic fuels are just a first step in the right direction."

With its own team in Formula 1

According to rumours, Porsche would like to enter Formula 1 with a completely own team, with its own chassis and engine. In addition, Volkswagen has been associated with Red Bull for some time, which will drive with its own engine until 2025 after Honda leave the sport. The engine development will be frozen until then.
