Carlos Sainz Jr. insists that he is focussed on this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix and not too much on where he will be driving next season.
Renault driver Carlos Sainz Jr. is still under contract with Red Bull and the Spaniard doesn't know where he will be racing next season.
Cyril Abiteboul has admitted that he has been looking for other drivers as Sainz's future is still uncertain, with Force India driver Esteban Ocon being heavily linked with a move to Renault.
Sainz has insisted that his focus is on this weekend's race, though, and claims that the
Hungaroring is one of the most difficult tracks in Formula One.
The Spanish driver has scored points in two out of this last three races at the Hungaroring and thinks it is a very intense lap and one that is difficult to get everything right in.
"It's a very tight track, similar to Monaco in a way but obviously without the barriers," Sainz told The Checkered Flag.
"It's a track I like, especially in Qualifying, where you have to be on it. A lap is very intense and busy with a lot of corner combinations you have to get right. It's a difficult circuit to overtake, but turn one is probably the best opportunity."
Sainz has admitted that he has mixed feelings about the summer break that is after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"I have mixed feelings about the summer break," he added.
"On one hand, it's nice because you get the chance to reset everything a little bit, but on the other, I love racing and I'll miss that for a few weeks!"
