As the year comes to an end, so does
Carlos Sainz's last official day as a
Ferrari driver. On Instagram, he reflected on his time at
Ferrari with one last post focusing on the iconic red team, and his former teammate
Charles Leclerc.
Sainz's Instagram post caption read, "It’s been an amazing four years fighting together for Ferrari, @charles_leclerc. Thank you for all the great moments we’ve shared along the way. Wishing you nothing but the best for next year and beyond!"
Sainz's four years at Ferrari
All of the photos feature
Charles Leclerc. The post is centred around their time as teammates and some things they got up to together. Over the course of the four years they spent together, they shared podiums, flights and helmets. For example, in the post you can see a video of Sainz watching football while Leclerc has fallen asleep beside him. On the last slide, Sainz included the helmet Leclerc had dedicated to him for his last GP with Ferrari. The helmet read "Muchas Graciac Carlos".
Sainz joined Ferrari in 2021 after leaving
McLaren. Replacing
Sebastian Vettel, Sainz won his first Grand Prix with the team. Throughout his four years, Sainz won four races and stood on the podium a total of 28 times. His highest ranking in the drivers' championship was fifth. He has placed 5th three times; in 2021,2023, and 2024.
In January, Sainz will make his official move to
Williams Racing where he will be
Alexander Albon's new teammate. After finishing ninth among the constructors championship standings, Williams has a lot of work to do.
