Mick Schumacher experienced a disappointing first year in Formula 1 in 2021. The driver did not achieve a single point and therefore stood empty-handed at the end of the season together with Robert Kubica and Nikita Mazepin. However, he is confident in the new year, he told Speedweek.com.

The talented driver was not at all lucky last calendar year. Knowing that it would have to deal with new regulations in 2022, Haas decided to hardly invest in last season. It ensured that Schumacher had to deal with a car that he could hardly compete with. He therefore expects to do better this year.

"There are always things you can learn, it never stops. And when the rules change so much it also affects the learning curve," Schumacher stated."Knowing what to expect and how the season develops helps, of course. I probably know a little better how to handle everything, so I also hope it goes a little better than last year."

Haas hopes for a better year

Guenther Steiner indicated this week that he has had a tough season. The Haas team boss knew that the American racing stable would have little chance against the competition, but seemed to have counted on a few points. However, that too proved to be too high.
