No Silverstone Grand Prix beneficial

Silverstone dropping its Grand Prix would be beneficial to the British Racing Driver Club (BRDC) as they may well receive a £50 million profit as a result.
Just days before last years British Grand Prix, the BRDC triggered a break clause in Silverstone’s contract to host the Grand Prix by saying the event is “not financially viable.”
The BRDC felt this because the cost of hosting is mounting year on year and without any government help nothing is making anything easier.
The last Silverstone race is currently scheduled to be 2019.
This will be the case unless the event hosting fee’s drop significantly.
The BRDC would gain from the cancellation of this Grand Prix as membership includes most the starts and legends of British motorsport.
Other minor events would still take place at the track, providing profit. This profit could be used to improve the track, engage more youth drivers to pick up the sport and then look to develop British Motorsport as a whole.
