Sebastian Vettel has led a Ferrari one-two in FP3 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore, with the Italian team looking in a league of its own in terms of one-lap pace.
It was all about Ferrari, from the start all the way to the finish. Kimi Raikkonen was the first person to set a time, and Vettel the second. That one-two was never broken up for the rest of the hour, with both Ferrari drivers improving on their times in their second runs.
Vettel set a 1:38.054, which is absolutely rapid compared to the rest. Raikkonen couldn't get within three tenths, and Hamilton couldn't even get within half a second. Red Bull drove on softs for almost the entire session, with slight engine issues playing up at Verstappen's side of the garage.
"The radiator is making weird noises again," the Dutchman reported over the radio, followed after by:
"Aaah, I'm so angry with this!"
"The product in the back of this car is not working like I want to!"
Red Bull are clearly sour when it comes to Renault, a feeling which has only gotten worse since their switch to Honda, which goes into effect next season.
When they did come out on hypersofts in the final five minutes, it was insignificant. Tucking in behind the two Mercedes cars, Ricciardo and Verstappen took their usual P5 and P6, although they are expected to beat Mercedes in qualifying, when there is less traffic to bother their respective hot laps.
Ferrari have confirmed their dominant position for qualifying, but Red Bull could cause an upset. We don't know, Red Bull's only hot laps on hypersofts were disturbed by traffic.
