Sunday summary- Hamilton wins in Russia after Vettel retires

It was another interesting race in Russia as Mercedes secured a one-two, while Ferrari was let down by Sebastian Vettel, who crashed out the race after ignoring team orders, who's pre-race plan was let down by the German. It's the Sunday Summary with today's biggest stories!

Mercedes secured a one-two to extend constructors lead.

Lewis Hamilton picked up his first win in four races, capitalising on the problems at Ferrari, while teammate Valtteri Bottas came through in second behind the Brit. Charles Leclerc had started on pole, but Vettel overtook the 21-year-old on the opening lap, only for the German not to allow Leclerc back through.

The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Alex Albon finished just off the podium in 4th and 5th respectively, while there were also top-ten finishes for the two McLarens, Carlos Sainz in 6th and his teammate Lando Norris in 8th. Hamilton recorded an extra point for recording the fastest lap in the race and heads to Japan with a 73 point advantage over his teammate, Bottas.

Kevin Magnussen of Haas was given a five-second time penalty at the Russian Grand Prix which saw him drop to 9th, he was not pleased with the stewards, to say the least.

He was battling with Sergio Perez for 7th position but he ran wide at the opening chicane to cause himself further problems. It's safe to say that the Haas driver was not best pleased with his penalty.

Vettel was forced to retire from the Russian Grand Prix after he ignored team orders. The German admitted that he knew that the team had an agreement prior to the race and admitted that it was quite clear what the plan was for the team.

Vettel had been let through by Leclerc in the early stages of the race, but the German failed to repay the favour as Leclerc was forced to settle for 3rd behind the Mercedes. This breaks a run of strong recent results for Ferrari which had seen them win the past three races ahead of Russia.

Vettel was given the driver of the day even though he crashed out of the Russian Grand Prix. This comes because the German began the race so strongly and was brilliant before he was forced to retire. Vettel won 21% of the vote, despite Mercedes winning the race and completing a one-two.

The German was full of confidence after his first race victory of the season last weekend and started so strongly today, but was unable to remain in the race after not agreeing with the team orders which were imposed and ultimately costing Ferrari a very strong result for the two drivers.
