Marc Surer, former F1 driver, argues in an interview with Formel1.de that Lewis Hamilton has had luck on his side all season, and foresees that this may end in the next season, especially if the rumors about a new Honda engine are true.
Surer argues that Hamilton will have to recognise that luck has been resting on his shoulder almost all season, again so in Imola. There he was helped by a virtual safety car that was just long enough for his pit stop, allowing Hamilton to conquer the lead in the race.
As one of the reasons why Hamilton may have a harder time next season, should he still be racing, Surer mentions the development of a new engine by Honda. “I think Honda is also building a new engine and wants to prove again that they can actually do it - and probably prefer to say goodbye with a title.”

Hamilton won't stop yet

Nevertheless, Surer does not want to know anything about rumors that Hamilton will no longer participate in Formula 1 in 2021. "I wouldn't understand that he's stopping now. As motivated as it drives, as perfect as it drives - you don't stop when you're still inside.”
