It's been two years since F1 raced in Germany, but
Max Verstappen hasn't forgotten about the double podium the Red Bull boys achieved in 2016. The Dutchman and his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo came 2nd and 3rd beating both Ferrari's and the eventual world champion in the process.
The 20-year-old is feeling optimistic ahead of the event next year and suggests the Austrian team have the ability to repeat the feat.
In an interview on Motorsport, Verstappen confirmed he was looking at the history to give him good motivation. When he won out in Austria, he was supported by an army of Dutch fans. He expects their presence to be felt at Hockenheim.
"There will be Dutch fans in large numbers to encourage me, I am looking forward to it. Two years ago we were on the podium with two cars, so that's a nice memory," Verstappen said.
"A historic track with many special curves. The last sector offers possibilities for different lines."
