Red Bull's Max Verstappen has said that he won't drive more carefully, as the Dutchman thinks that the slightest drop in aggression from him would mean that he'll be driving at the back of the grid.
Verstappen was always known for his aggressiveness, but that status of his aggressive driving is slowly elevating to reckless driving, as the 20-year-old has been involved in a host of accidents and collisions this season. However, talking to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Verstappen explains that he won't be changing anything about his approach.
"Of course, you can be a bit more careful," he admits.
"However, the consequence of that would be that you'll be driving at the back of the grid because you'll be a lot slower.
"That's why most people who make remarks like that aren't F1-drivers.
"And it's easy to say too for former drivers."
Verstappen did concede that he and teammate Daniel Ricciardo have to give each other a little bit more space in future battles, even if it's just a few millimeters.
"I wouldn't find it strange either if we get asked from the pit to give each other a bit more space if there are just a few laps to go.
"To prevent a situation like in Baku."
