Max Verstappen says his RB15 is lacking in speed as well as consistency after a disappointing Bahrain Grand Prix saw him miss out on a podium place.
After a podium at the season-opening race in Melbourne, Red Bull's fortunes were drastically changed under the floodlights in Bahrain, comfortably outclassed on single-lap pace by Mercedes and Ferrari.
While their race pace showed a slight improvement, Verstappen still was unhappy with how his car was handling and highlighted a lack of speed as a real issue facing the team going forward.
"We just didn't have the speed so we couldn't really attack," he told Ziggo Sport.
"It can happen sometimes that things don't go well, as long as we know where the problem is.
"We are third in the championship and so is Red Bull, trying to lose as few points as possible and getting the car under control quickly," he added.
Red Bull teammate Pierre Gasly also highlighted the shortcomings of the new Red Bull car, telling the team after a lacklustre qualifying he couldn't put the power down whatsoever.
