Starting from second place
Max Verstappen will open the attack on
Lewis Hamilton. The reigning world champion secured his 100th pole position in Barcelona, but the gap between them was extremely small. In the
Build-up Dutchman let it be known that he wants to open the attack in the first corner.
"We'll find out who comes through that corner first. We shouldn't think about that too much yet. We always try to have a good start and we'll just have to see what happens," the
Red Bull Racing driver explained. This weekend Verstappen will celebrate his 100th Grand Prix for
Christian Horner 's team at the same circuit where he drove his first race for Red Bull.
Multiple chances to attack
"Now I'm driving the 100th for the team and the first win really feels like a long time ago. It's a really nice track and I really enjoy driving here". Verstappen expects the speeds between Red Bull and Mercedes to be little different and the details will make the difference."It's still a very long season. We will have to keep working hard to beat them. It won't be easy, but it's close and that's good to see."
Finally, the Dutchman summed up his prediction for the race."Yesterday was a good day, we were close to pole. I hope we can have a good race today and score a lot of points. Hopefully we can do something at the start and in the first corner, but if we can't, that we can keep the pressure on," Verstappen concluded.
