Sebastian Vettel has admitted he is making errors but doesn't think he needs to change his style of driving. Vettel crashed on lap one of the French Grand Prix with Valtteri Bottas, a mistake which cost him the lead of the championship as Lewis Hamilton won to go top of the standings.
Speaking to reporters prior to the Austrian Grand Prix, the Ferrari driver admitted that some mistakes had been made so far this season but that it wouldn't change how he drives this year.
"It's racing. There are some errors you shouldn't do, some errors that happen. It depends on the type of error.
"I've had a lot of races. It happens, unfortunately, at times. I try to minimize it, but I'm not worried. I don't think there is something fundamentally wrong.
"I think we know what we are doing — I hope I know what I'm doing most of the time, so I should be fine."
Vettel also made an uncharacteristic error in Baku, attempting to take the lead on the safety car restart late on in the race, but instead locking up and losing several positions.
These errors teamed with Mercedes' relentless pace and Hamilton's form and consistency could lead to Vettel missing out on the title once again.
