The newly announced W Series will be supporting DTM during the 2019 season. The all-women series will launch next year and will follow the DTM series around six venues in its inaugural year.
The category aims to provide a racing series for women to showcase their potential with the series not costing anything to compete in as well as providing funding for those who graduate up the motorsport ladder.
The parent company of DTM, ITM, said that they were looking forward to the partnership as managing director Achim Kostron explained.
“Invigorating and extending our motor-racing support programme for 2019 represented the top priority on our to-do list,” Kostron said.
“We are really delighted with having the possibility to welcome the innovative and professional W Series at DTM.
“The fact that the organisers of the W Series chose the DTM as a platform for their great project speaks for itself.”
The W Series has already announced six races on their provisional calendar including dates at Misano, Assen and Brands Hatch.
