Friday in Bahrain is over, so the teams are slowly getting ready for the first qualifying session of the season on Saturday. The drivers can practice one last time during the third free practice session before the battle for pole position begins. Qualifying will start at the end of the afternoon.
During the first and second free practice sessions of the Bahrain Grand Prix, it became clear that Red Bull Racing and Ferrari are in good shape. During FP2 Max Verstappen was the fastest man on track, but the difference with Charles Leclerc on P2 was very small. In the first practice, Pierre Gasly finished at the top of the timesheet, but in terms of temperature, FP1 is not as representative as FP2.
Mercedes, on the other hand, does not look as good. The team is still struggling with problems and especially Lewis Hamilton did not seem satisfied yet. George Russell was a lot faster than his new teammate during the second practice.
The drivers will get one last chance to practice during the third free practice at 12:00 UK time. Qualifying in Bahrain will then start at 15:00 UK time. Around 16:00 we will know who will take the first pole position of the season.
