The morning session of day seven has seen a new fastest lap of testing so far be recorded by Charles Leclerc in his impressive Ferrari with a 1:16.231, as well as some quick laps from most teams throughout and a large collection of laps from Lewis Hamilton.
It was a slow start to testing before any official lap times were recorded. Alexander Albon, Landon Norris, Kevin Magnussen, Lance Stroll and Nico Hulkenberg were all first out onto track, doing their installation laps before heading back in.
Hamilton set the first official time of 2:01:389, before providing lap after lap to end on 85 laps in total and a time of 1:18.097 in eighth place.
Ferrari and Leclerc took forty minutes before they eventually came out onto track, to focus on setting times as fast as they could on the C4 tyre, ending up with the fastest time of testing this year from a 1,16.231 on the C5 tyre.
Albon was the first of the drivers to get his car below the 1:17 mark, posting a time of 1:16.882 and sitting on top for quite a while.
McLaren persisted on showing that their car has some good pace, with Lando Norris setting a third fastest time of 1:17.084 and a total of 65 laps.
Red Bull, Renault, Racing Point and Alfa Romeo all ended with times in the 1:17 gap. With Pierre Gasly 1:17.091, Nico Hulkenberg 1:17.496, Lance Stroll 1:17.556 and Antonio Giovinazzi 1:17.639 respectively.
George Russell and his William managed a total of 53 laps and a time of 1:18.130, putting them ninth in front of the Haas of Magnussen.
