Toto Wolff has suggested that there are three teams gunning for the Constructors Title in the upcoming 2018
Formula 1 season.
It will come as no surprise that Wolff has predicted
Ferrari and Red Bull along with his Mercedes team to make up the top three constructors this year.
Lewis Hamilton was fastest in his Mercedes in the first test at the Circuit de Catalunya with Ferrari's Seb Vettel not far behind.
In the second test, Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo set the unofficial lap record for the track on a set of the new hypersoft tyres.
Wolff told Sky Sports F1 that he feels it will be close between the teams at the opening round in Australia, saying that the best scenario for Mercedes would be to be just in front, and the worst case would be that they are "not far behind".
He went on to praise Red Bull, saying: "What we have seen from Red Bull is that they have a very strong package.
"I think they (Red Bull) will be very much in the game for race wins and the championship itself.
"I think it will be all three of us against each other.
"Honestly, I am excited by the prospect of a tough battle."
A lot of Formula 1 fans will be hoping Wolff is right and we can see some great battles between three giants of the sport.
