Toto Wolff has responded to
Christian Horner's statements. The
Red Bull Racing team principal claimed that Wolff should just recruit
Jos Verstappen if he wanted a Verstappen in his team.
"I didn't hear that at all," Toto Wolff was the first to say when confronted by
Sky Sports Germany about Horner's statements.
"That's just stupid. He is talking nonsense." When asked if he would consider the offer to contract
Jos Verstappen, Wolff jokes:
"That's not even that bad." The battle between Horner and Wolff
Wolff was asked about statements made earlier on Friday by
Christian Horner. Where
Max Verstappen had expressed that he would stay with Red Bull Racing through 2025, Horner thought that was the most normal thing in the world. After all, Verstappen had a contract until 2028 and so, according to Horner, Wolff was better off looking elsewhere.
However, during the press conference, Horner was also frequently asked about statements made by Jos Verstappen, who refused to do the Legends Parade on the grounds that Horner would have wanted to prevent him. All those questions eventually caused Horner to become somewhat cynical as well, saying: "Why Toto? I think it's purely a tactic of distraction. If he does want a Verstappen for next year then I guess Jos is potentially available."
