Toto Wolff is predicting a start with plenty of "carnage". The Mercedes boss says the straight line speed mismatch could create some trouble in the first corner. The two Red Bulls lock out the front row of the grid for the first time in the turbo era.
Hamilton lines up behind the front-runners with Sebastian Vettel sitting in 4th. The Mexican track has a long run into the first corner.
"The grid has the potential for carnage on the straight and through the first corners," Wolff told Motorsport.
"Because you have two Red Bulls which have the least straight-line speed on the front row, then it's us, and then the Ferraris are obviously 10km/h up to everybody else."
Vettel has spun around 180 degrees in the opening stages of the last two Grands Prix. But this week the fear passes over to the Mercedes garage.
"I try to visualise how that could look down the straight and through the first corner, I just hope we come out with two cars intact," Wolff added.
His number one driver Lewis Hamilton can win the title this afternoon if he finishes seventh or higher. Avoiding contact could be the order of the day.
