Obviously his career cannot go on forever, but
Lewis Hamilton certainly has plenty of years left in the tank for now, it’s a test of his motivation to add to his five titles he has already won.
Hamilton secured his fifth title last week in Mexico, and the 33-year old still has plenty of years left in his career to overtake
Michael Schumacher’s record of seven titles.
The Brit has two years left on his contract with Mercedes, and with the partnership seeming as strong as ever, it is suddenly realistic that he could go on and perhaps even overtake Schumacher.
Wolff told Formula1.com: "As long as we provide a car that is competitive to win championships and he continues to drive like he does, this can be a relationship that goes forever.
"This is the best Lewis Hamilton I have seen in the last six years. He has driven better, he has been better out of the car. Very, very complete.”
You can understand why Wolff wants Hamilton to stay with the team “forever”, in his six years at the team he has won a massive 50 races with the Silver Arrows, having only won 21 in the previous six years with McLaren.
