This statement will lead to other scenarios. If Perez and Max has the same potential car how bad is Perez a driver that he can't qualify second for most races? Does that mean that other drivers who have slower are consistently out qualifying Perez who has a faster car? Is Perez that bad a driver? It just doesn't make sense If you analyze all the other match ups, they are generally close in the qualifying times because the their cars have similar pace. Drivers have different styles and set-up preferences so you would expect that on different tracks one would dominate the other. To me the situation at Red Bull with Perez is similar to what Bottas experienced at Mercedes. Bottas never stood a chance23-09-2023 14:44

Been watching f1 from the year Verstappen won his first title. I enjoyed the battle very much and was looking forward to more of that. At the beginning of last season, it seemed that was going to happen until Red Bull and Verstappen in particular took over. Now it has become very predictable who will win except for the odd race here and there. From a neutral point of view, a lot of the excitement has gone because of the predictability of who will win22-09-2023 11:24

In a world of opinions, that is one of the most exciting moments I have seen in F1 for a while. That's what you want to see in F1. Drivers battling and testing each other. Not every race where after about 5 laps the leader is already 10 seconds ahead. Ferrari, Mercedes, McClaren, Aston Martin, etc please get your act together and provide championship winning cars for your drivers Your cars are too slow and it's resulting in the one man races each race day That season when verstappen won his first title and the first few races of the next season is how F1 should always be. But it needs the other teams to step up their game and produce faster and more reliable cars01-07-2023 20:40

Question: let's say he was driving the Mercedes car. Would he gave been able to make up the 2 tenths? In praising drivers people seem to forget that the car's potential has so much to do with performance and results. I am not disregarded any driver's ability. But everyone knows that that three tenths extra advantage the red bull has was the main reason why verstappen was able to nip the pole. He won the previous two qualities sessions by almost that margin28-05-2023 00:33

That finish is reminiscent an athletics 100 m race where the fastest athlete has a bad start but uses hes/her superior speed to come through and pip the others for the win. That 3 tenths advantage that red bull has was really MAXimized in the sector of that race27-05-2023 22:51

Why can't we just give credit to a driver when he wins and STOP from trying to see what went wrong with a driver that didn't win? Last week when perez won most of the articles and opinions were about the issue with the pit stop for verstappen and not for the fact that perez won Now today some are trying to say that perez was sabotaged so verstappen could win It was an excellent drive from verstappen. Yes he had the fastest car by about 3 tenths as was shown all weekend but it doesn't any less take away from the performance08-05-2023 00:38

Verstappen was fastest all weekend by about 3 tenths at least and I expected him to be up there early in the race It was a good drive. Once he didn't make any mistakes it always going to be an easy win for him. By starting 9th he gave the others hope for about 15 laps!07-05-2023 23:09

This race reminds me of the one Hamilton did in Brazil a few seasons ago. Similar staring positions, similar speed cards and some very impressive overtaking(which you should expect from cars that fast) What do you think?07-05-2023 23:37

Max is correct. You can't manipulate everything for excitement but you can manipulate some things for excitement the last race in 2021 was manipulated at the end and it created plenty of excitement for some and plenty of despair for some05-05-2023 12:13

If there was no saftey car when max pitted in lap 10, he would have come back out behind Russel in 8th based on the times at that point Both benefitted in some way but perez had the better benefits being that he kept the lead on fresh tyres After the restart verstappen got past leclerc very quickly and he was 1.226 secs behind perez then. At that point had ample time to get pass perez30-04-2023 16:03
