I like the sprintraces. But not because the concept of a short race is so good. I think we still see too many parades for it to be a sucess. I like it more because in the main races we see drivers going around the track who still have no idea how their car will react under certain circumstances, since they had much less time to prepare. Which in term gives much more interesting races. That's for me the biggest bonus from a sprint weekend.04-12-2024 13:07

If he indeed forgot the limitter by one of the safetycar drive througs, then it is possibly quite a bit more then 1 or 2 km/h. Really weird to see this happening to Lewis. Not a Lewis fan, but most of the time these kind of things Lewis is quite observant and precise in. Is it fatigue from the long season?02-12-2024 01:39

Stella is trying to make the point that drivers in this case should be punished based on the risk of the action. The whole point of the yellow flags is to give the drivers warning BECAUSE THEY CANT OVERSEE THE FULL RISK. Lando didn't know if anything else was going on. Most drivers even told after the match they didn't know where an object was on the track, and the ones who did said that from the car it was not recognizable. Apart from that we can discuss the severity of the punishment which seemed imo harsh in general. But the penalty should never be put in perspective of the risk the driver thinks he has taken.01-12-2024 23:09

seems to me they initially put out yellow to find out what was going on, and after evaluating turned it in green. The thought process seems logic to me. I don't think it was the correct thought process, since there still was an object in the overtake space. So in my opinion clear why they put out those flags, but just the wrong choice.02-12-2024 04:57

If you look at the mirror exploding... that was all over the track, left to right01-12-2024 19:55

Not sure, leclerc thought it might be because of the high edged curbs.... But can't be coincidence it was so quickly after Bottas annihilated that mirror. When they showed the replay of them going through straight, there was nothing to see... But that doesn't rule it out. EDIT: Just saw Vasseur and he seemed to imply it was debries01-12-2024 19:14

Even as a red bull fan, i have to say it was harsh.... but why take the risk? Lando was not racing Max... he was racing Ferrari. That was pretty much done with him being second and sainz getting behind. So why pushing under yellow knowing you will get into trouble because of that? Even if he only got a 10 sec penalty or a drive through... still that would have hurt a lot immediatly after a safetycar where the cars are close together... So why didn't he just hold back 0.4-0.6 sec on the straight during yellow. Really don't get it.01-12-2024 19:09

In all threads nobody gonna say anything about Zhou? Drove far above his normal potential and grabbed his first points pushing him in the top20 drivers. He deserved that "Driver of the Day".01-12-2024 19:30
