Lewis stayed at McLaren for 5 more seasons after spygate. I wouldn’t call that moving on.28-03-2025 17:14

I don’t think it will happen on the short term, but if RBR can’t develop enough and VCARB can… then it might get interesting. But indeed, if it happens then fireworks will go off. I bet Max would explode behind closed doors.27-03-2025 20:00

Or Lawson beats Max whilst driving the VCARB. Now that would be something.27-03-2025 15:54

Spain might be a turning point this season. We’ll get stricter tests that should result in less flexible front wings. We’ve already seen last year that McLaren and Mercedes frontwing flexes way more than Redbull and Ferrari’s. After Spain we will probably know more as it’s also a track that generally reflects how the teams line up pacewise for most tracks.23-03-2025 17:42

On full fuel the car would bottom out more indeed, but that’s where data model tools come in. With which f1 teams can calculate very precisely how much the skid block would wear if you put the car on height X. With the sprint they even have more data than usually, so i think its even a bigger blunder that it happened in a sprint weekend23-03-2025 22:49

You would expect that the sprint race would provide plenty of data, so that teams could avoid issues like too much skid block wear. Just another Ferrari blunder23-03-2025 16:34

I think Red Bull should have put Ricciardo next to Max. Not because Ricciardo would match Max’ pace, but I think his driving style comes closer to Max than Lawson and Tsunodo’s. Thus in combination with his racing experience perform better than Lawson (and Tsunoda if put in the Red Bull). I would put Ricciardo into last year Red Bull, have him do some testing sessions (similar to Lewis’ Ferrari testing sessions) and then decide whether to replace Lawson. I don’t believe tsunoda would do much better than Lawson, so if replacing Lawson then Ricciardo would be the only viable option at the moment.23-03-2025 16:50

This Red Bull pace is exactly what I expected from Bahrein testing. They are the 4th team at best. Lawson’s performance makes you think that if they would put any other driver in Max’s spot, they would be backmarkers.23-03-2025 09:00

There we go. I said it last season as well, give Lewis a good car and he’ll be at the front. Lewis excels in extracting that little bit extra from a good car21-03-2025 09:22

I understand Lewis’ frustration with the media who are blowing the way Lewis communicated with his engineer up out of proportion, but I do not think it was necessary for Lewis to drag Max into this.20-03-2025 11:10
