So Pirelli said both drivers were doing different programs (as Pirelli decides which driver runs which program they want), and the times are irrelevant for comparison given the different programs but the idiots on here will still say lewis is finished. What a total bunch of clowns !!05-02-2025 22:30

Get it right !! It was Perez Russell hit not Max and he also got two points on his license taking him up to 6 points. I do agree it was an abysmal performance for Russell all round though.28-05-2023 21:56

The team have admitted that they just haven’t got a car lewis can utilise and until they do he will struggle. This is not a lewis thing this is a car issue. They admitted in Jeddah they were playing the set up roulette again giving the drivers a 50/50 choice of setup and the one Lewis picked was a little slower in reality but that’s more down to the car not the driver. Given equal set ups & lewis will beat George almost every time. The hard part has been done which is Mercedes admitting their car is fundamentally broken not it’s just time until we get the new concept bodywork car. Lewis will be back once he get a car he has confidence in & it handles predictably, George can handle a poor handling car as let’s be honest anything is like a rolls Royce compared to the Williams car he was driving previously including this poor & fundamentally broken Mercedes cars.24-03-2023 01:13

This is the biggest load of garbage ever written. All the PU from every manufacturer have to me identical you can give any team a different spec PU to give any team an advantage. Sure there is manufacturing tolerances that could make one PU slightly better than another but this difference will be so small it’s not even calculable. The rest is down to power modes that each team use.09-03-2023 22:51

Don’t complicate things and look for an agenda that is not there, just look at what happened. 1. Russell got lucky with Friday qualifying due to him string a time then going off while other top 10 drivers were still on qualifying laps. If he hadn’t of brought out the red flag & got lucky with the weather he probably wouldn’t have started 3rd. 2. In the main race if the Lewis hadn’t of had the collusion with Max then George would not of finished 1st. Lewis was consistently faster during the race until the last SC and if it wasn’t for dropping back down the field & having to drive back through the field he would have comfortably overtaken George & probably won the race. Sometimes luck plays a big part of motorsport & George has had a lot of luck this season. That’s not to say George isn’t a decent driver but lewis sacrificed a lot this season especially in the first half experimenting & developing the car for future gains & also fell unlucky a lot of times due to various scenarios. If the development gains are as good as Mercedes hope then lewis will have the measure of George over the season.22-11-2022 01:28

It’s pretty simple - You can’t dive bomb around the outside with a massive over speed, not get the overtake done & then force another car off the track. Max has admitted he had no intention of yielding which is exactly what he should have done once it overtake attempt was unsuccessful. The penalty is right for forcing another car off track but afterwards Max admitting publicly in interviews that he had no intention of yielding even though he knew there would be contact Max deserves far more than the 5sec penalty he got & should be getting a retrospective race ban for deliberately using his car as a weapon & to deliberately crash into another driver.14-11-2022 00:44

A fine & a reduction in wind tunnel time is an absolute joke of a penalty. If this truly is the case & the precedence is set then expect Mercedes & Ferrari to be breaking the Budget cap in future seasons by up to 5% as the punishment is so lenient the gains of the extra spend are well worth doing.27-10-2022 23:06

Considering this the opinion of a well paid from the team Redbull ambassador I’m bang on saying there is a lot of bias in this article. Max is a very good driver but with only one WDC won under controversial circumstances & possibly one (this season) in one of the most dominant cars ever seen in F1, I’d say the jury is very much still out to consider Max an “F1 Great”. only time will tell the true story of if He is or not.22-09-2022 15:11

You do know that if lewis pitted he would of come out behind Verstappen in 2nd & the race would of finished behind the safety car without the lobbying from Horner & Wheatley. It was alway a lose/lose situation for Mercedes with Horner & Wheatley lobbying. The only way Mercedes & lewis could of won was if Masi followed the rules as he was required to do instead of the race director bending them, in that situation Mercedes got the strategy bang on to the letter of the rules.08-08-2022 17:01

You do realise that Toto is not just a manger but he actually owns an equal portion of the team (33.3%). As Daimler AMG only own the same along with Ineos you can safely say Toto’s job is safe. It’s pretty difficult to get fired when you are the owner as well with guarantees in place to keep your job regardless. If Daimler or Ineos are snot happy with Toto they can always sell their stake in the team but I highly doubt that will happen anytime soon.16-06-2022 01:20
