Kelly Piquet is nearing the end of her pregnancy and could give birth at any moment. While Max Verstappen was busy racing at Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix, Piquet was in Monaco, where she celebrated her baby shower surrounded by close friends and family. The couple is eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child together.
Last weekend, Kelly Piquet celebrated her baby shower aboard Max Verstappen’s new yacht in Monte Carlo. Although the expectant father couldn’t attend due to his commitments at the Japanese Grand Prix, the event was still a joyful occasion, as shown in the photos Piquet shared on Instagram. While Monte Carlo hosted the baby shower, there was also reason to celebrate in Japan—Verstappen clinched his first win of the 2025 season at Suzuka, making it a memorable weekend for both.

Max Verstappen is currently in the middle of the first triple-header of the 2025 Formula 1 season, which includes the Grands Prix of Japan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. The first race of this sequence took place last weekend at the Suzuka circuit, where the Dutch driver secured a victory. Earlier this year, Giedo van der Garde mentioned that Verstappen's baby would likely be born 'somewhere in April,' so the arrival could happen at any moment.
If Piquet gives birth in the next two weeks, it means that Verstappen will unfortunately miss the birth. The four-time world champion has already spoken about this, stating: "If it happens, it happens. There's nothing I can do about it. Unfortunately, F1 drivers don't get time off, but at the same time I'm also not the one that is giving birth."
