Whatever RBR have done with this car they need to undo it fast and give Max a balanced car he can push with.25-08-2024 17:53

I don't think Max needs a really strong car to show what he can do, just a balanced one. Whatever direction RBR have gone with this new concept it seems to be affecting the handling and taking away front end sharpness. I heard Max in the race saying he adjusted his balance by a large amount and still couldn't turn in. He just seemed to get more and more mad with and understeering car until he lost it and nearly took Lewis out.22-07-2024 19:46

Lewis had just lapped a backmarker then moved over to the racing line. Max came steaming in and locked up shooting straight through the racing line for the corner. Lewis wasn't turning under braking, he was turning into the corner, it just so happened Max was still braking and locking up when he should have been turning. I'm honestly surprised Lewis conceded it as a racing incident and the stewards aren't penalising Max, and I say this as a fan of Max and RBR.21-07-2024 21:04

The problem was Max was braking and locking up straight through the turn in point. He was completely out of control and losing his cool. I can't defend him on this occasion, and he fortunately didn't take Lewis's podium away from him.21-07-2024 20:55

Piastri deserved to win no doubt, but this might come back to haunt Norris if they go on a good run and Max drops more points.21-07-2024 18:24

Lewis is being kind here by claiming a racing incident, and I say that as a fan of Verstappen. Max was out of control.21-07-2024 18:22

As much as I strongly believe Max deserved the title in '21 and drove more consistently with less mistakes, it was painful to see Lewis lose the title in that way. It would be nice to see him get a few more wins with Merc before he leaves and a title shot with Ferrari before he eventually retires.08-07-2024 11:39

Martin Brundle said in the race commentary that McLaren had the advantage of a new set of mediums for their final stint, yet they put the softs on? Piastri had enough pace to win if he also wasn't kept out on a wet track with slicks. Embarrassing stuff from McLaren.08-07-2024 11:42

It seems the development path RBR have chosen to stay ahead has slowed down. They feared their path from last year's car would do this very thing so they switched. It seems Merc and McLaren have developed it nicely.07-07-2024 18:21
