The dutch kid was more impressive in his first 7 seasons. He achieved multiple impressive race victories and fought well against Hamilton as soon as the cars were similar (even if the 2021 WDC did not go to the right one). A champion can be observed even when they have not yet attained it. Just as Hamilton's impressive rookie season where he failed to win the championship. Norris bad start gifted race win to Ricciardo in 2021 and then failed to capitalize on rocketship last year. Is this argument going anywhere? Lando Norris is not one the level of the the kings like Hamilton, Max, and Alonso many years ago. He is simply the benefactor of a rocketship. He never impressed without, and he never won away from pole but one time with a lucky safety car. It is maybe a Vettel caliber driver.19-03-2025 23:07

No. They are not all the same. Jenson Button won a WDC, but he was inferior to Hamilton when they were teammates at Mclaren. Hamilton won the qualifying head to head by a large margin. He won the race head to head by a smaller but notable margin. Some drivers are merely good and benefit from a rocketship like Button did in 2009 and as Lando Norris does today.19-03-2025 05:36

He is not championship material. He just has a rocketship. Lance Stroll will be "championship material" if Newey make a car fast enough for him but these average drivers should never be compared to real champions.17-03-2025 22:04

Yeah I think Mclaren is the place to be this year. Too bad. I wanted to see Leclerc and Hamilton fight for the WDC. It doesn't look realistic anymore.27-02-2025 23:07
