Max Verstappen lost grip in the corner and spun heavily, but managed to recover. Sergio Perez helped him to not lose too many places.
The leader of the world championship was on a roll at the time. Despite his tenth starting position, the driver managed to drive towards the top three. After a few good pitstops he passed Charles Leclerc and seemed to be on his way to victory.
Then, however, he suddenly found himself with little grip on the track. After pressing his accelerator, he lost control of the wheel and ended up inverted on the track. Fortunately for Verstappen, he was able to recover quickly.
Perez cleverly helps his teammate Verstappen
As Perez drove behind him, he was then able to hold off George Russell somewhat, giving Verstappen the opportunity to get away again. He then managed to overtake Leclerc again to take third place for the second time.
