Ferrari offers unique behind-the-scenes look at Hamilton's debut
It was one of the most talked-about transfers in Formula 1 history: Lewis Hamilton's switch from Mercedes to Ferrari in the twilight of his F1 career. His presentation at the Scuderia was in the spotlight, as shown in a unique behind-the-scenes video shared by the Maranello-based outift.
Hamilton makes grand Ferrari debut
In January, Hamilton travelled to Maranello to meet the factory staff and drive his first metres in the SF-23 driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in 2023. Thousands of Ferrari fans were present at the Scuderia's headquarters to see the seven-time world champion make his debut in red, which consisted of a TPC (testing previous cars) at the Fiorano circuit near Maranello, followed by a test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
In Spain the Briton also completed a test programme for Pirelli along with his new teammate Leclerc, designed to test the tyre manufacturer's new compounds for 2026. They did so in last year's SF-24. Hamilton's next Ferrari appearance is scheduled for 18 February. That is when all 10 F1 teams will unveil their new liveries for the 2025 season in front of tens of thousands of fans at the O2 Arena in London, wheren Ferrari will also show a render of the SF-25.
A day later, the Scuderia will hold its own car presentation at Maranello, after which Hamilton and Leclerc will drive the SF-25 for the very first time. They will then travel to Bahrain, where F1's winter testing is scheduled from 26 to 28 February.
