Oscar Piastri is busily preparing behind the scenes to start the season strongly in Bahrain at the beginning of March. This week, the Australian rookie experienced his first day at
McLaren and the formation summed it up in a short video posted on
its YouTube channel can be found.
In the video, the driver takes a tour of the factory to meet a number of people. At the end, he additionally speaks to CEO
Zak Brown, after which he calls his mother to talk about his first day at his new team.
Promising McLaren team
Piastri is the replacement for
Daniel Ricciardo, who will start this season as
Red Bull Racing's reserve driver. Expectations at
McLaren are high, Brown previously revealed. Indeed, he believes the talented driver has already extensively shown what he is capable of.
However, Brown seems to expect the most from
Lando Norris, who must lead McLaren to a world title in the coming years. While the next two seasons seem too early to achieve that goal, the British racing stable hopes to peak in 2025. Last season, McLaren finished no further than fifth among constructors.
