We're just about underway in Bahrain, and
Daniel Ricciardo's car lost power after two laps! In the same lap,
Max Verstappen punctures his tyre and is forced to pit, only to retire a few laps later.
It started when Verstappen made a move on Lewis Hamilton on lap two and his left rear tyre got punctured on Hamilton's Mercedes. As Verstappen was limping to the pits, his teammate Daniel Ricciardo was suddenly seen on the side of the track without power. A heartbreaking retirement for the Aussie, who could do nothing about it.
Verstappen came into the pitlane and got a fresh set of softs, but after his retirement he said that his differential was already broken from the moment his car touched Hamilton's. The Dutchman was forced to retire only five laps into the race.
More on this later!
