Just when
Sergio Perez is under heavy pressure at
Red Bull Racing, the Mexican has once again gone wrong. In Q1 of qualifying for the
Hungarian Grand Prix, he lost control of his RB20 and crashed.
Perez out again in Q1 qualifying GP Hungary
Based on the free practice sessions at the
Hungaroring, Perez seemed to be in pretty good shape. Yet in qualifying, things went wrong again early for the Mexican: he skidded, went off the track and crashed hard into the wall resulting in a badly damaged RB20. Perez reported via board radio that he was physically fine, but mentally he was dealt another blow.
After both
Max Verstappen and
Christian Horner still defended Perez, the pressure seems to be affecting him anyway.
Helmut Marko indicated earlier that Red Bull would evaluate its options during the summer break, making good performances in Hungary and Belgium crucial for the Mexican. In any case, the Formula One weekend in Hungary started dramatically for Perez, who also failed to get through Q1 at Silverstone due to an error of his own.
