Charles Leclerc claimed third place in today's qualifying at Monza, with his teammate, Carlos Sainz, stealing pole position from Max Verstappen. The Ferrari driver was seen smiling and waving to the Tifosi after the session and is looking to convert the strong qualifying result into a top-two tomorrow.

"We should be happy, especially on my side, I've been struggling a lot," Leclerc stated in the post-session interview in the pit lane, "I don't smile very often when I'm P3. We will try to get first and second with Carlos."

Despite wanting to be on pole position, as every driver does, the Monegasque still managed to keep a positive eye on things and share his praise for his teammate and the supporting Tifosi. He explained: "My feeling can only be amazing with the Tifosi. I'm a bit disappointed on my side, I wanted to be first but seeing Carlos in P1 is great for Ferrari, he has been doing an incredible job all weekend.

"I have been struggling a little bit more in FP1, FP2 and FP3. I put everything together in qualifying so I was really happy. I didn't have slipstream in Q3 which cost us probably one position at least, but it's life," the Ferrari driver said.
